helping my children grow into the people God's designed then to be, dancing with hubby, seeking God's word for me, helping others find happiness in marriage by connecting with God
  1. I had a great time talking with Looney, always do! Wish I had more time to spend is all. Needed a bunny fix.
  2. I had Nemo read your post Eeyore. This is THE SAME THING we deal with wherein he says, "Oh I need to remember to NOT DO THAT again." Ugh. Given his memory . . . THAT ain't gonna happen. RATHER he needs to think of how to positively, pro-actively EDIFY the ones he loves. Put downs and jokes are still ALL ABOUT HIM! Ugh. Can't it be as simple as "JUST BLESS ME, PLEASE" as opposed to a list of 'don'ts'? Why do they feel the need to be so defensive?
  3. No need for that - but I understand coming up with a good excuse. It'll be JUST ME, and my visit can be more functional than just soaking up your chat time if you need any help around the house or a drive to the store.
  4. Cool. "Up" is my favorite direction! If tomorrow is ok, I'll visit then! But I need to leave by 1:45pm to be home for the kids.
  5. Then that would NOT have been us as we were very guilty of pushing them away.
  6. Saw this on Wannabe's Facebook thread and felt called to post it here. This is a legitimate struggle for all moms. Minstry to your own kids IS your calling - never lose sight of the importance of that. God wants us to get it right at home before we try to change the world. I am very guilty of this.
  7. Certainly. I was looking for that section and just never found it for some strange reason.

  9. Gimme an "L" . .. . for the "Listen" part of the L.o.v.e.r. acronym ~dory Learning to Communicate... Added benefits of drive through talking: (a) Gives you a chance to fully understand what the other person is saying before you respond. This also prevents tuning out the other person while he or she is talking. ("b" Validates the other person and his or her opinions. When you not only listen but also repeat back what someone says, you communicate that the person and his or her opinions are important to you and worth taking seriously. - From "It Takes Two to Tango" by Gary and Norma
  10. Increasing your Intimacy . . One of the greatest secrets in history is that true happiness comes from reaching out to others with a genuine desire for them to feel love from us. - From "It Takes Two to Tango" by Gary and Norma Smalley
  11. Just saw TWO GREAT movies in the last 5 days! BOTH ARE AWESOME and foundational to this teaching here. Moreover, foundational to God's word. Seven Days in Utopia came out Sept 2nd and will likely fade fast because of its Christian underpinnings. So GO FAST to see it if you haven't already! Robert Duvall does a fantastic job taking a young athlete under his wing and helping him understand manhood. Other very good role models - even for helpmeets - are in this movie. also. . . Courageous comes out Sept 30th. We got to see a sneak preview of it last night. This movie is just plain unbash
