God Save My Marriage

Recommended Posts

If you're a wife whose husband is resistant, or a skeptical husband who thinks this seems like some kind of hocus-pocus - then you're in the same place I was in three months ago!

My wife brought me Joel and Kathy's books last summer and asked if I'd read them. She believed there were answers for US in them. I listened to 20 minutes of the first CD of the book...and dismissed the entire idea.

In the early fall, she brought them back to me and asked if we could read them. I said, "Honey, I just don't see that we're going to get ANY help from those crazy people and their weird ideas!" I promised her I'd find some other resource. I never did.

In December, God started to get ahold of my heart. She was working so hard at trying to find answers...I was doing nothing.

She brought the books to me one last time in January and I agreed to read them with her. We read and discussed. I resisted but kept reading. We had a couple of INTENSE arguments/discussions but neither of us walked out and stayed gone. We both refused to quit and kept coming back to use the tools we were discovering to work through the issues of the hurt I've caused my wife over 22 years.

We joined Joel and Kathy for an Intensive Marriage Seminar two weeks ago! The time was miraculous. We drove home holding hands and talking for 7 straight hours without a single disagreement.

We haven't had a fight in about six weeks. We have new tools that WORK for talking through our differences. I'm growing up and, with God's help, putting my old self to death.

A few days ago, my wife said, "For the first time in our married life, I feel FREE to talk to you about anything without being afraid I'll upset you."

She was right. There are answers here! If you're in the process - stick with it! If we can get there...anyone can! If you're a guest considering whether or not there's help here...THERE IS! Come on in and join this caring group of helpers, brothers, and sisters in the journey to an outrageously happy marriage.

There was a moment when I said, "If God can do it for Joel, He can do it for me." Now I want YOU to know...if God can do it for me, He can do it for you!
