I talked to Carole the other day and I received an e-mail and was able to download our cruise packet. I think I got it all. I printed everything out including luggage tags etc. and understand that having the VIP Fun Pass completed makes boarding easier. Glad to hear Marsha has a roommate........Sounds like we're all set! Elizabeth is coming and you all will just love her. Elizabeth had a husband who declared, "I will do what I want to do, when I want to do it, and that's that!" So, she put his stuff on the porch to greet him when he came home from the bar (professing Christian) and that was that. Funny - this was one of our first really beligerant men. Turns out that he was still married when he met Elizabeth. He had been seperated for five years from his wife but chose not to divorce until he met Elizabeth and decided he wanted to marry her. Can anyone say "marriage that started in adultery!" Well, it is not funny, but makes it easier to deal with. He was just about the only man who did not immediately knee jerk back with a desperate "I will do anything to make up for this and restore my marriage." We realized that this principle did not work because the marriage was started in adultery - and he had never repented of it. So, Elizabeth has adjusted to life as a single person, which is what she would have been had she not been pulled in by this married man. Elizabeth is VERY sharp - VERY intelligent. (Has a PHd in counseling!). Just goes to show how a woman can get sucked into an affair and lose all sense of right and wrong.. and later pays a price. She is coming up on the other side though - "the other side of the fork in the road." God takes care of his girls. The guy? Well, oddly enough, he surfaced about a year after the divorce, asking, "Is there anything we can do to get back together?" She said, "Maybe. Call Joel." I think I am quoting her correctly. We are soooo looking forward to this trip. I am warning everyone in advance, I love taking pictures. So start practicing your smiles. Can you say cheese? It will be so great to meet everyone in person on the cruise that we talk to on the phone. Plus, we will be spending a few extra days in sunny FL for a few days until the following Monday. We fly out of the airport in Tampa. We would love to meet other couples in FL. who are not going on the cruise as well. Let us know if you would like to get together with us. Maybe we could meet a few couples at someone's house or at a restaurant that could be within driving distance for several couples. We love getting together with people. Anyway, the trip is going to be a blast! I'm sure a good time will be had by all. We were also talking about having a party for anyone who was not able to go on the cruise and see all the pictures and videos from the trip. We thought the 4th of July would be a great time to get together with everyone here in Chicago. Let us know if there is any interest?We are looking forward to meeting everyone. See ya soon! We will be here kind of; and the house will be a mess because we will have just gotten back - and will have house guests etcetera - and then gone in the evening for the wedding - but people in Florida who would like to could drop in at our house on Saturday after the cruise - June 20th. However, it would be great if someone could tape the renewal vows for us since we will be in it. I think I have to take Susan dress shopping before the BIG event. Kay Posted June 1, 2009 Report Share Posted June 1, 2009 Hi all, Yes, Bob and I are very excited about the Cruise. Last night, was my last day of work, and my "crunch time" is over. Now, it's time to start thinking of the Cruise, and "dress shopping" ugh. I love the fact that John is taking you, Susan to the store. How cool is that? As for pictures. I don't mean to sound prudish, but I am not comfortable with my picture on the Forum. I run my own business and teach approx. 500 kids a year. The last thing I need is for my private life to become school gossip. I have been very transparent on the boards, but with a stage name, mostly. I hope you all understand. I'm not thrilled about "facebook" either. Perhaps, we can share private emails. I'm guessing that everyone will be bringing camera's. I know that I am. Pictures are a great way of keeping memories alive. I'm all for it. We are both so excited to meet all of you. And, for us, this is just a beginning. I'm looking to do much more traveling in the future and hope to meet as many forum people as I can. You are all my sisters in Christ and are a very important part of my life. The hubby says he is so tired from work that all he wants to do is sleep---hmmmm.....he can't do that he'll miss the fun. I'm super excited and hope I have all I need to be ready. Texting is not bad on some services. Verizon is fifty cents - that is bad - but tmobil is only like twenty cents or so. If you take a computer, you will buy pre-paid online minutes - or you can use the onboard computers... forty cents a minute, either way. However, they often have special deals, like buy sixty minutes and get sixty free. Best plan is to wait for a special. These are announced in the daily newsletter in your stateroom.
