God Save My Marriage

Kathy fights for luggage in Las Vegas..lol

Recommended Posts

Hi there,,

YES, it is TRUE, I struggle with a 300+ pound South African guy for luggage, thinking it was MINE. Ohhhh my. lol

First of all, Joel went looking for a luggage cart, so he wasn't around when this first happened....

So, I saw this PINK luggage and thought, that must be mine, there couldn't be another PINK one.

AS I struggled to pull this HEAVY thing off the conveyor, this man comes over and helps me....so I thought he was Helping me.

Realizing this luggage was his,he proceeds to take it from me, but I won't let go. Still thinking he is being a help to me, he looks at the name on the tag and says "are you so and so? I not understanding him, said, huh???? Looking for my glasses, he asked me again and I said no. He then proceeds to tell me, it was his, but I didn't understand him. :rotfl: :rotfl: and I didn't let go.

At this point, he lets go of the luggage and I think "oops, its not mine, I need to put it back on the conveyor. I am struggling, really struggling to pick this up and HE IS NOT HELPING. I think...Man, he helped me take it off, it would be nice if he helped me put it back on. Then i thought, he must have a bad back, that makes sense, and I continue to try and pick this up.

He was thinking, "it's mine, I'm not going to help her put it back up there, so he just let me struggle. :rotfl:

Still Not realizing the luggage was HIS, I kept struggling to get it up on the conveyor belt but couldn't when FINALLY JOEL SHOWS UP. WHOO HOOO. HURRAY!

Joel comes over and the man says something to Joel and Joel laughs and says, oh, this is yours and starts to laugh. I was soooo embarrassed. [smilie=to funny.gif]

My "supine nature" kicked in and I didn't know what to do. laugh, apologize, both, etc. So, I said, i'm sorry, I didn't understand you. He replies with "i was talking english..." in his very South African accent. :rotfl:

The man, the whole time was thinking, it's mine, I'm not going to help her put it back up there and HE DIDNT. LOL

We waited for our next luggage, which was blue. When Joel pulled it off the conveyor, he asked the gentleman, " is THIS one yours too??? and they started to laugh :rotfl: Joel just had to say it. All the while, people are watching ME!~.

When this struggle was going on, I didn't even realize it WAS a struggle.

I had been up and rolling since 6am, long day on the flights and then THIS.

too funny. This all happened within my first hour of being in Las Vegas.

Not to leave out, when we waled into the airport, there was one of those huge tv deals adverting a "strip tease" club...lol There was a girrl on the tv, doing a strip tease. THEN, the HUGE posters.......many of our wives would be covering their husbands eyes and guiding them. :rotfl:

We laugh now, but back in our bad days, I would have stressed out over all of this. lol

I can't wait to see what the rest of the time here holds....besides the HEAT.

IT'S OVER 103 DEGREES....can anyone say "SPEED TANNING." :rotfl:

IT'S 9:30pm right now, but it's 12:30am at home...

We aren't speaking till Saturday evening...so we are going to take tomorrow to go and WALK (no car) the strip and see what is what.

Well, I am exhausted. It has been a long week with the Intensive and then packing to come here...then the travel....

time to chill. Nite. Thanks for laughing with me, I sure needed that. [smilie=to funny.gif]

Blessings to all my friends, chat with you another time. nite.

PS. If you live in the Las Vegas area, let us know, we love meeting people.

Oh my gosh, I can SO imagine me doing this!!! And I work with some South African students, so I know the accent can be thick. Thank you, Jesus, for the ability to laugh at ourselves!

I am going to an unclaimed baggage place today with our International students and I was planning to buy an unusual colored bag for our mission trip to Honduras. So PINK is out??? Who knew men were now carrying pink luggage.

Love you guys, and your ministry is doing a MAJOR number on my marriage, and I am so thankful! Can't wait to meet you in July. Just 3 more weeks.

Blessings and supernatural strength and peace,

Gracey

[smilie=hi ya!.gif],

Your welcome. I love to laugh and have FUN....and then share the FUN, FUNNY stuff.

So PINK is out??? Who knew men were now carrying pink luggage.

If he had a wife there, I didn't see her. Maybe she was like I was, (if there was a wife), that it would be funny to have Joel pulling our PINK suitcase.

Yeah, who knew?? lol

I was soooo embarrassed and I tried to laugh while in the midst of that moment in time...

When we finally got my PINK suitcase, Joel says to the guy, "our suitcase is a prettier PINK than your's. [smilie=to funny.gif]

the guy replies, "NO COMMENT." Joel took him off guard. I smiled, I thought it was GREAT! My HERO! [smilie=to funny.gif]

A guy's "ONE UP-MANSHIP." [smilie=to funny.gif]

He was about 300+ lbs and I am about 109....what a site for sure.

I wish I would have stepped out of my "supine" self and joined in with the "ohhh how funny, and not have been soooe embarrassed. "

BUT,

AFTER the fact, I have just rolled :rotfl: and rolled :rotfl: and rolled :rotfl: . Sooooo funny!

One of our couples told us recently how they had been to Las Vegas and they kept playing the gambling machines in the airport....now we know why, "the strip tease show" on the BIG SCREEH TV/BILLBOARD." He said, I kept playing the machines ....lol

We laugh now, but we realize it IS a serious matter. Joel was on the Men's call when he saw that...it was quite funny!

Well, it's 8am here in Las Vegas and I am looking forward to what today brings.

Went to bed at 9:30pm (12:30am Florida time)

Today, since we don't speak till tomorrow afternoon, are going to take on the Laa Vegas HOT DESERT WEATHER and walk (don't have a car) around to see what is what. Take pics etc.

WHILE, taking care of some VERY VERY SERIOUS issues with a particular couple at this moment. NECESSARY in the midst of what we do, but it's all good!

Blessings and much favor,

Kathy of Joel and Kathy ::love

PS. In 4 days, Joshua and Kimberly are moving here to Palm Coast, Florida. Hurray! We are VERY EXCITED. Arriving on July 1st....we will be home to GREET them. So nice.

AND, we get to treat them out to OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE. Looking forward to that for sure.

YOU TOO can be treated out to OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE by Joel and Kathy IF you move here to Palm Coast, Florida. (Our fun line we like to say.....but its TRUE :D )

Thanks Joshua and Kimberly for taking over the Men's call for us last night in the midst of ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING.

[smilie=hi ya!.gif] SEE YA!

When we left Alaska, there was snow on the ground. (We were driving to Phoenix, and drove thru Las Vegas.) When we got to LV, it was 116! Talk about a shock!! Then we spend the summer in Phoenix, and it was the hottest summer since the 1930s!

So, it could be worse! :rotfl:

You should have been there with us ladies in February... that was beautiful!! Stay cool!

That is so funny and your right it could be worse. I am still laughing over the airport ordeal.

I am quite sure it was really nice in Feb. here in LV. I am told it does get "COLD" around here..... 70's maybe 60's. :rotfl:

MONDAY, it is suppose to be 108.

We spoke at a conference tonight and while being given a ride home, the girrl said that she remembers when it was 121 degrees and someone reminded her that it got up to 130. Ohhhhh man. I can't imagine HEAT like that. And it's not like normal HEAT, it's the real DRY HEAT. ugh.

I think we are going to rent a car on monday. This guy who gave us a ride to the conference told us, it's a MUST. need to see the old LV, and other places that John and Susan pointed out to us.

Well, I am very tired, we are listening to the conference call with WILL and ROBIN on the line.....

time to rest.

Thanks for laughing with me and adding xtra laughter to this. It is very nice!

Blessings to you, Kathy of Joel and Kathy ::love
