JoelandKathy
Eeyore posted the issues. She shared her heart on the forum and on a call. Her Density made replies and participated in trying to "get it". We pick the story up on a Thursday in the life of Eeyore, Her Density and Looney! On Thursday night Looney kidnapped me and we went to a hotel (with a HOT TUB!) for the night!! I NEEDED the break. We went out to eat, then went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub, then went out to Cold Stone (ice cream!), when got a movie in the room (which I slept thru!). I woke up feeling like a new woman. The funny thing is that Looney called me when she was on her way to my house, and she told me not to argue with her... She told me to pack a change of clothes and my swimsuit, and I knew instantly what she was planning. I told our daughter what we were going to do. Looney got here just before HD, and then we left right after HD got home from work. But the funny part is that I FORGOT to tell HD that I would not be back!! He mentioned to our daughter that he wondered what time the movie was getting over (which was the original plan), and she told him that we went to a hotel. (I guess the fact that I left with a full tote bag and my laptop did not register in his mind!) I think it did him good to be home WITHOUT me. Not really "shutting down", but doing a little bit of it. It is what I NEEDED. Then yesterday HD texted me at work at about 12:30, saying that he wanted to take me (hold onto your hats!!) on a date!! He also tried to call me several times throughout the day, but every time he called, I was busy with someone in the office (I work alone on Fridays). He planned dinner (researched the restaurant and read reviews) and bought tickets in advance for a movie that I wanted to see!! (It was the one that Looney and I were going to see on Thursday night but did not make it to.) After the movie (which was kinda late), I asked HD if he felt like I did, which was to NOT go home. So, we got a hotel room, and did not make it home from our date until about 2:00 this afternoon!! I guess I am not "done" after all... Thanks for helping us through this BUMP everyone. Your help and love and support and friendship are SOOO appreciated!!
JoelandKathy
Eeyore posted this today: Posted Today, 09:53 AM Yup! Yesterday was my birthday, and we had plans to go on a field trip to a local farm with our homeschool group... hay ride, pumpkin picking, apple cider and picnic!! But the weather has been awful this week... Wednesday is was in the mid-50s and raining, and Thursday was forecast to be colder (40s) and more rain (which it did!), so they canceled the field trip. I was bummed out, but did not want to be freezing and wet all day. HD said that he had come up with two options for things to do instead (he had taken the day off to go on the field trip with us), but he did not want to tell me what they were. He told our daughter, and she liked "option B". (All he would say is that "option A" was "touristy" and that "option B" would be fun too, but he thought "option A" would be more fun.) Yesterday he told me what the options were... "option A" was going to the local Art Museum (they have some cool exhibits right now) and "option B" was going to see a move that just came out. Our daughter knew that I wanted to see that movie, and when he told me that, I agreed with "option B" - the movie!! (The art museum sounded like a good rainy day activity, but not a good rainy Birthday activity!) It was so amazing to have HD listen to my heart, even before I said anything! He listened to our daughter and took her seriously, and then when I agreed with her, he did not try to convince me that HIS plan was better. (Even though he cam up with both options, he wanted "A" and in the past, he would have pushed for "his" way, and would have taken all the fun out of whatever we ended up doing.) So, the day was PERFECT!! I was blessed with AWESOME presents (our daughter is making me a "menu board" that you can write on with dry erase markers, made from a pretty picture frame and cool scrapbooking paper in the frame... you put the days of the week on the left side, and can write on the glass with the markers!). They also gave me a new sewing lamp and a KINDLE!! Every year it seems that my birthday falls at a time when we have not money... and I end up feeling both hurt (and ignored), even though I get gifts, the attitude behind them is that I am less important than anything else. I don't want HD to spend a ton of money on me, but since "gifts" is one of my main "love languages", it matters to me a lot. And yesterday I felt SO blessed!! So, presents, then the movie... Oh, I forgot to say this... our daughter works at Dairy Queen, and she special ordered an ice cream cake for me! It was gluten-free (no "crunchies" in the middle) and was delicious! She took me with her to pick it up. Then we all went to the movies. After that I had a dentist appointment (yes, on my birthday... it was the only day in this week or next that I could get in). I broke a tooth on Saturday (eating a sandwich!), and it needed to be fixed (I had the option of filling it or a crown). I opted for a filling, since a crown is so expensive, and with us getting ready to move... it was just the better option. So, the dentist got in there, and realized that there was decay that went into the root, so instead of a filling, I ended up with a ROOT CANAL!! So much fun on my birthday!! LOL But when we got home, Looney was here... she came over and made us dinner and had ice cream cake with us. I am SO blessed (root canal and all)!!! It was the PREFECT day!! HD was THERE all day, no hesitancy, no distance, no wondering what I did wrong... he was there... When we had to discuss money a couple of times, he just discussed it with me, instead of going inside his head and leaving me all alone. What an AMAZING transformation he has made! No, things are not perfect, but our BUMPS are so much shorter. I am doing a better job of walking away instead of climbing inside his head, and he is turning around so much quicker. As I said, I am SO blessed!!
