Replace the evil years with good. *2

 

Let us see your miracles again; *3

This is our goal:

 

 

1. To help couples find gladness in proportion to their current and former misery! Marriage is designed by God to be greatest source of happiness, joy and contentment in this earth realm, second only to our relationship with Him and the joy of our salvation. Marriage is meant to make you holy, yes, AND happy! Outrageously happy! *1

 

 

2. To enable a couple to get into the position where God can replace the evil years with GREAT years! *2

 

 

3. To help a couple see God's miracles in their life: *3

 

A. The miracle of transformation in character and a restored marriage.

 

B. The miracle of restoration for all children and others who have been harmed by the marriage dysfunctions. *4

 

 

4. To let children experience what it is like to have God's glory and favor in their home because their parents are so wonderfully in love and outrageously happily married. This brings healing to the wounds that the children have been subjected to through the years of marriage misery in the home. *4

 

 

5. To get God's favor on every home that receives this message. A great marriage ATTRACTS God's favor and Glory. A great marriage IS the greatest representation of the Glory of God in the earth. *5

 

 

6. We pray that our efforts, and the efforts of our helpers in this forum will be successful. *6

 

 

7. We pray that your efforts at entering into an outrageously happy marriage will be successful. *6

There was a prophetic word given to us about ten years ago - five years before writing "The Man of Her Dreams/The Woman of His!"

 

That prophetic Word said this: "I have brought you out of the fire. Now I will take you back in to bring others out."

 

At this point in time, we were simply enjoying traveling as a family in secular work, enjoying the five years of a happy marriage that we had been experiencing so far.

 

We had NO idea what God was seeing. We thought that this simply meant that He would sometimes bring people across our path who had adultery in their marriage and we would help them to come out of the fire.

 

Five years later, we felt that prompting of the Lord to write "The Man of Her Dreams/The Woman of His!" We have been in full time marriage ministry since that time.

 

As we have reflected on the fact that so many people have been pulled out of the fire, the "picture" expanded. Our ministry now is not just Joel and Kathy. A number of couples who have experienced miracles have begun to "stick around" and "HELP" other couples to also come out of the fire.

 

These couples are in the process of coming out of the fire and are beginning to enjoy happy marriages. Some are still coming out of that fire.

 

The vision that we received just a few days ago was that we walked into the fire and grabbed someone's hand. As we are pulling them out of the fire, they are looking back and grabbing someone else's hand. As we all are walking out of the fire in a chain, the last couple also reaches back and grabs someone's hand as they are coming out.

 

Wow... is that what is happening or what? Absolutely! We have "helpers" here on the forum and we have "helpers" who are conducting group calls. These calls are six days each week now - we pulled them out and they are pulling others out.

 

The message? As you are coming out of the fire, grab someone's hand and pull them out as we and our helpers are pulling you out. Let's have a rescue of massive proportions! EVERYONE can be saved from the fire if they want to be. Let's give them that helping hand!

Dear Joel and Kathy,

I found this ministry as a God-thing when I was looking for marriage help.

I actually was looking up marriage retreats--my husband and I had been to 2--one a year the last 2 years. The last one was last November. But I felt like it helped for a few weeks, and then we were back in similar places to before the retreat. Also, no connections of people to call. One leader the first year said it would be easier for me to get ahold of her through email rather than a phone call. I emailed her twice and never heard back from her.

So when I wrote you "my marriage in a nutshell," and you asked me to post it on your forum, then I wrote back to ask instructions how, and you helped me with that, that gave me some hope. Then when I read the responses to my posting, I cried. I felt compassion from Christian siblings that I've never met. Hopefully someday I can meet some of you. So thank you so very much.

We feel like God has given us a second verse for the ministry that like Psalms 90: 15-17 (above) this second verse is a "Vision" verse.

 

The NKJV says this in Hosea 11:3-4:

I taught Ephraim to walk, 1

Taking them by their arms. 2

But they did not know that I healed them. 3

I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love. 4

And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. 5

I stooped and fed them. 6

 

Hosea 11:3-4

 

1. We interchange the word "Ephraim" with "couples" or the individuals that come to the ministry for help.

 

We teach couples to walk; or we teach a husband or wife how to walk.. taking them by their arms.

 

The word "teach" is the same word as "walk" - so that means that we take couples by the arm (or individuals) and we walk with them, taking them by the arm and showing them by example how to walk. In our world, this means that we teach them how to end up with an outrageously happy marriage! (or in the case of those we work with who have an non-participating spouse, we teach them how to walk to get the best end results.)

 

2. So, we take couples by the arm and walk with them, teaching them by example how to live in an outrageously happy marriage!

 

3. They do not know that God is healing them as they walk this journey with us. Kathy wrote an article titled "My Healing Snuck Up On Me". In that article, she describes how she suddenly liked live flowers. Live flowers had been a hurt spot for her for years.. therefore, she only wanted fake flowers for a long time. One day I got her live flowers and she like them. All of the pain was gone. She then began to plant live flowers and plants. She realized "My Healing Snuck up on me".

 

As couples or even singles walk this road, they get healed. Men who walk the road that we recommend get healed; becoming better men, even if their wife does not ultimately turn around! (our goal though is always marriage healing and restoration so the couple can end up healed TOGETHER.)

 

When a woman's spouse does not cooperate, she still gets healed as she walks this journey. We have a saying based on what we have seen in real life; "God Takes Care of His Girls." God brings healing to women who walk this road successfully, even if their husband does not cooperate and they end up single. Our goal though is always marriage restoration. If that does not happen though, then we are happy for the healing that still takes place.

 

4. As much as is possible, we help couples and individuals with gentleness and bands of love. We minister out of a place of compassion, knowing that we ourselves were almost divorced.

 

5. We lift burdens and take the yoke away from a person's or couple's neck.

 

6. We stooped and fed them. Kathy and I (and some of our helpers for that matter) could just go on and live our lives, happily ever after. Instead, we "stoop down to feed" those who are struggling. We help them to come up and out of their pain. This is much like the word "i have brought you out of the fire to take you back in so that you can bring others out." We 'stoop down' to help others.

 

Awesome verse, eh?

Its the thief that comes to kill, steal, and to destroy, but I have come to give you life and life more abundantly.

Abundantly, means to overflow. God wants us to be so blessed that we overflow into peoples lives.Heis a good God, not a God who is out to hurt us.
